New Patients

What does your first appointment involve?

• Your first visit to our practice will be slightly longer than usual, as we take time to get to know you and your smile during your new patient consultation. We warmly welcome you on arrival and show you to our comfortable waiting area.
• Your appointment with your dentist begins with a discussion about your dental history and any concerns you wish to tell us about. We encourage you to ask any questions you may have about your oral health, our practice or dental treatment. We are happy to help you feel at ease however we can. 
• We carefully and thoroughly examine your teeth, gums and mouth, noting your dental condition and identifying any areas of concern. We check for signs of gum disease, tooth wear or decay, and assess your jaw joints. We also carry out mouth cancer screening as standard. 
• If required, we take digital x-rays of your mouth and discuss these with you in detail. We can use intraoral camera technology to display images from your mouth on a monitor, giving you the chance to see the tiniest details of your teeth with advanced magnification. 
• If you need further treatment, we create your bespoke treatment plan, which includes the timeframe and costs involved. Your next appointment is arranged with our friendly reception team.
